# Is there a certain age to nanny

Hello there I would love to nanny considering I’ve tooken care of kids all my life from my younger sister and cousins. I was wondering there is a age limit it never asked me I’m currently 16 years old I’ll be 17 in September please help me.

Most families hire nannies are 18+. If you personally know a family the might be willing to hire young then great. You will need your parent’s permission though. Personally I started a 16 because I knew the family I was working with for years. I know you can babysit and if you don’t find any one to hire you to be a nanny I suggest you babysit for the experience. That and also maybe volunteering at any local boys&girl’s club for experience. If you can maybe get a certification like CPR or a child rearing class it would look great on your application. I wish you the best of luck.
