# Question for families with a nanny

do we have to pay our nanny vacation pay when we go on a family trip?

Yes! If she is a full time nanny you will need to pay her regular wages. If you are going on an extended vacation for the summer there may be a possibility to work out a compromise (maybe 60%?). You have to remember that this is her career and she is dependent on this income to maintain her finances.  
\*\*\*Most daycares require families to pay their tuition during vacations in order to hold a child’s spot as well.
