We had a nanny for a few weeks who was a terrible fit for our family. She was so unable to stay off her phone that our toddler was able to climb up and dance around on our dining table for nearly two minutes before he fell off and had a massive goose egg…TWICE. We ended up putting in an indoor camera and watched her stay glued to some short-video app for 30-40 minutes at a clip, while the toddler traveled in and out of the room. We spoke to her gently about our “no extended phone use outside of kiddo naptime” a couple times but her behavior rarely changed for more than a day. After hiring her we learned that she was a relative to another professional relationship, so we don’t want to engender any bad blood with her. We let her go with an excuse about our schedule changing, but really we just couldn’t trust her to provide the kind of supervision a toddler needs. We are in need of a new nanny and this previous nanny is still on the app. Is there a way to block her from seeing/responding to our new listing?
You made the right decision. I really don’t know if you can block a specific person from viewing your profile or job openings but that’s definitely a great question. Wish I could have been more helpful. Good luck!
