I recently signed up as a Nanny on NannyLane. I don’t work for them or have any other association, but I do have some suggestions for families ( AND…maybe these are suggestions for NannyLane to implement in their registration process)
- Include the full date of when you signed up or when you are looking for a nanny to start. I assume the ones coming across my feed are up to date, but it turns out they are NOT!
- Share as much info as possible! “Part time” does not give me much info as a nanny - Are you looking for 2 hrs/day? Or 10 hr days for 2 days/ week? There is a big difference!!
- Know what minimum wage is in your state! In CT, it is $15.69, so if you are offering less you are probably looking for a Mothers Helper , not a nanny.
- This forum is not necessarily the best place to advertise for a Nanny. I think it’s free to join the site, then you will be reaching nanny’s in your area, vs. nationwide on this Community page.
- PLEASE respond when Nanny’s reach out, even if you found a Nanny 5 years ago! (See bullet 1). There are plenty of opportunities to close your listing if no longer applicable, but I do think this is one of the better sites for finding a reasonably priced nanny and not pay an outrageous agency fee!
